  • Specialised Lunchtime Sports Coach

    Sports Coach - Lunchtime Activity Leader.

    Type: Lunchtime Club
    Days: Monday - Friday
    Time: 12:00 noon - 13:00 pm

    Let's Leap is looking for an experienced and engaging Sports Coach/Activity Leader to deliver a well-structured lunchtime club in a primary school in Southall (Borough of Ealing).

    This primary school is requesting a skilled & experienced sports coach who can confidently deliver a well-structured lunchtime programme to enhance the quality of lunchtimes within the school. This will include training year 6 children to support structured games within the playground and also deliver sports/skill-based games.

    What we need from you:

    • DBS clearance
    • UKCC sports coaching qualification(s) or Teaching relevant qualifications
    • Experience delivering engaging sports activities in Primary schools
    • A passion for working with children

    What you will be doing:

    • Set up zoned playground activities to provide structure and increase pupil participation by offering different activities during lunchtime.
    • Provide positive engagement and playground interaction.
    • Inclusion - Provide activities for all children.
    • Ensure activities are age and ability appropriate and are using the equipment and space safely.
    • Support with behaviour management in the playground.
    • Promote Health & Safety in the playground.
    • Review & reflect on delivered activities.
    • Use Let's Leap resources to assist with all planning
    • Inspire children, young people to develop skills and lead healthy active lifestyles
    • Supervise children during lunchtimes in line with policies & procedures
    • Follow Let's Leap and assigned schools behaviour management policies.
    • Give feedback to Let's Leap management team.
    • Maintain knowledge of Let's Leap policies & procedures and implement them where appropriate.
    • Tidy away sports equipment and store correctly i.e. pe cupboard, outdoor storage or other designated area.

    Times: 8:00 am - 5:30 pm

    Well, why not apply to become a Let's Leap Activity Camp Leader? You’ll be responsible for a group of children, initiating games, helping with activities and ensuring the welfare needs of all children are met.

    About you:

    • Over 18
    • Available to work during the School Holidays
    • Be a UK/EU citizen and have lived within the EU continuously for the last 3 years
    • Good teamwork skills
    • Experience working with children/young people

    Main duties include but are not exclusive to:

    • Assist and lead in the preparation and delivery of high-quality activity sessions within the camp.
    • Registering children throughout the day.
    • Ensure all children enjoy themselves and make inclusion a priority.
    • Administering first aid when necessary.
    • Ensure toilet breaks, snack breaks and lunchtimes are monitored.
    • Meet and greet children and parents on arrival and pick-up.
    • Keeping the work environment safe, age-appropriate, fun and educational.
    • Working within the framework of the Let's Leap camp policies and procedures.
    • Ensuring safe practice within sessions.
    • Dress and act accordingly with Let's Leap policies.

    *Role is not defined to just these responsibilities, as you may need to be flexible and willing to adapt.

    Person Specification:

    • Enthusiasm for the role with a willingness to learn.
    • Confidence and competence in leading a group of children.
    • Reliable and committed to providing a fun experience for all those our campers.
    • Flexibility and adaptability in a variety of scenarios.
    • Comfortable in a challenging environment

    What we do at Let's Leap:

    At our exciting activity camps based across London and the South East, we make sure children are cared for in a safe and happy environment while trying new activities and making new friends! We’ve been caring for children for over 10 years and continue to be an excellent service to parents by providing childcare over the school holidays. Our camps are fun-filled, and we’re experts in making the school holidays extra special.

    Successful candidates are required to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure and two professional references. You must possess the legal right to live and work in the UK to be considered for employment with Let's Leap.

    Salary: £110.00-£120.00 per day
